Sonya Bedford MBE

Sonya Bedford is a leading solicitor practitioner in the field of renewable energy with over 20 years’ experience in the field. She is a partner at Spencer West LLP and a consultant to Bristol City Council.

She is a director of Bath & West Community Energy, Exeter Community Energy and South Dartmoor Community Energy; a non-executive director of Regen; Vice Chair of Green Wedmore and a trustee of the Centre for Alternative Technology.

Sonya has won multiple awards for her commitment, has an MSc in renewable energy and holds the global wind rescue and working from heights certificate, renewable energy and electrician’s certificates.

Shailaja Annamraju

International development and climate leader with 25 years’ experience, Shailaja is currently senior managing director at The Global Innovation Fund – a non-profit fund founded to invest in climate and social innovations in low and middle income countries.

Shailaja previously set up the first impact framework for the UK Infrastructure Bank, now the National Wealth Fund. In government, she previously advised on the UK’s climate negotiations at COP19-21 and she helped develop a range of climate solutions partnerships in South and South East Asia.

Anita Ghanekar

With over 25 years’ experience in equity capital markets and investment banking, Anita is a director at Shore Capital and Corporate Ltd and a qualified executive for the Alternative Investment Market.

She has significant expertise in advising Investment Trusts, Renewables Asset Managers and Small / Mid-Cap growth companies listed in London. She has been actively focused on the Renewables / Infrastructure sectors since 2012, providing strategic advice, leading IPOs and Secondary Fundraisings for solar and battery storage companies, inter alia, NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd and Gore Street Energy Storage Fund Plc.

Tanja Gihr

Former Head of Sustainable Banking, EMEA, at Barclays Bank, Tanja has a proven track record in driving sustainable finance initiatives, having played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding Barclays’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory Group.

An ESG leader and financial market executive with 20 years’ experience, Tanja has advised C-suite executives and entrepreneurs across various sectors, helping them navigate their path towards sustainability.

Tanja’s qualifications include the Certificate in ESG Investing from the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute, the UN-approved Carbon Literacy Accreditation, and the Sustainable Finance Certificate from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership.

Duygu Gozeler Porchet

Seasoned finance professional and impact-driven advisor with over 15 years’ experience in wealth management and capital markets, Duygu is the founder of Gaia Impact Ventures.

She focuses on raising capital for impactful businesses and private equity funds, with an emphasis on those with female founders and a sustainability focus. Her background spans roles at Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Lombard Odier across London, New York, and Dubai.

Duygu believes in the transformative power of impact capital to address global challenges.

Duygu Gozeler Porchet

Mary Hockaday

Until recently Mary was interim Director of BBC World Service, overseeing more than forty language services, and for several years was Controller BBC World Service English, looking after the BBC’s radio and digital audio services in English for audiences around the world. Her previous role was as Head of the BBC Newsroom, overseeing the BBC’s flagship daily television and radio news bulletins and the BBC news website. She led major change programmes, including digital transformation as well as editorial innovation to meet changing audience needs.

She lived in Prague as a correspondent in Prague in the early 1990s for the BBC and The Independent.

She is a Lay Trustee with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, an independent NED with the ICAEW, a Trustee with the Girls’ Day School Trust and Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. She is very committed to the provision of good information so people can make informed decisions and bringing people together to solve problems. She lives in London and has two children.

Mary Hockaday is the Master of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Mary serves on the board of the British Library, is a Lay Trustee with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, and is an Independent Non-executive Director with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England.

David King

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton, David gained experience in Granada Group companies. He then moved into the voluntary sector and spent most of his career working with charities and not for profit organisations. During that time, his focus broadened from finance to general management.

David held a variety of executive and non-executive roles with a range of charities and not for profit organisations including Finance Director at the NSPCC and Honorary Treasurer of the NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations). In addition, he was Chairman of Children’s Hospices UK (now Together for Short Lives), served on the BBC Appeals Advisory Committee and worked as Chief Executive of the Samaritans.

Samantha Nicol

Samantha is a dynamic, creative and commercial business leader specialising in developing and executing new ideas from strategy through to launch.

She is currently a freelance consultant supporting companies and public authorities with decarbonisation strategies including smart local energy market designs. Prior to this, she led Bristol Energy’s Innovation and Energy Services division to support Bristol Energy’s core energy supply business across key decarbonisation pathways: heat, local energy systems, energy efficiency and mobility. Samantha has developed new growth strategies, propositions and pilot programmes for blue chip and niche energy companies.

Samantha holds a B.Com from Queens University (Canada) and an MBA from Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Angela Terry

One Home was founded by Angela Terry MSc MEI, an environmental scientist with over 20 years’ experience in the renewables industry before forming One Home to mainstream climate action. Angela was a pioneer of community energy in the UK as Development Director for Energy4All. She was also head of wood fuel for the Forestry Commission, policy manager for RES, and a carbon scientist in New Zealand.

“Knowing that the solutions to climate change exist, yet watching greenhouse gas emissions increase every year is frustrating but it also inspired me to set up One Home to raise awareness of the choices and power we have as individuals. We also need to urgently increase resilience in our communities due to the climate emergency hence our continual focus to work with the media to accelerate climate action.”

Jennifer Crowley

Jennifer is an expert in sustainable business strategy, value chain decarbonisation and stakeholder engagement, she is an active industry contributor with qualifications from Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership and Trinity College Dublin. As global director of responsible business, Jennifer overhauled the responsible business strategy at Kin+Carta, a global digital transformation consultancy and the first listed B Corporation on the London Stock Exchange. As part of this work, she grew the enterprise value by converting supply chain engagement into client-facing win themes and thought-leadership.

Jennifer designs and delivers roadmaps for CSRD-readiness, TCFD reporting and double-materiality assessments with a particular interest in corporate governance and AI- readiness across organisations.

Her career has seen her work across the US, France, Ireland and the UK with both scaling and listed enterprise organisations in FMCG, digital transformation and consulting.

Vera Spiridopoulo

Vera is a strategic and financial leader with expertise in governance, global capital markets, venture capital, strategy and risk management.  Throughout her investment banking career, Vera enabled international corporates and banks to successfully access global debt capital markets. She devised and executed many innovative strategic financings, restructuring, as well as risk and asset-liability management solutions for institutions facing complex problems. In the past few years, her focus has been on strategic advice to technology and green energy businesses and investments.
